Western Montana is Picture Perfect

It’s hard not to see a photo in every direction when you’re in Montana, an infinite gallery regardless of the season—the sunlight-filtered golds of autumn aspens, pure white snow against bluebird skies, wildflower-filled meadows in the springtime and summer’s sparkling waters.

Western Montana is a photographer’s paradise, with panoramic vistas, scenic overlooks, lake sunsets, stoic wildlife and the jagged peaks and sweeping valleys of Glacier National Park—a travel photographers dream. We even have a photography school right here in Missoula, where nature nurtures the craft. Here are some amazing Glacier Country photographers to follow on Instagram for inspiration.

Capture and Post Responsibly

  • Avoid geotagging in Glacier National Park.
  • Do not trespass on private land without permission.
  • Be respectful on tribal lands.
  • Do not put yourself in danger trying to take a selfie.
  • Keep your distance from wildlife.
  • Stay on trails and leave no trace.
